Oracle Database 12c introduces upgrade behavior changes for your database in addition to new features. Changes in behavior include deprecated and desupported initialization parameters, options, syntax, and the deprecation and desupport of features and components.
These topics do not describe new features introduced in Oracle Database 12c, nor do they describe changes in earlier releases of Oracle Database.
Be aware of the implications of deprecated and desupported:
Deprecated features are features that are no longer being enhanced but are still supported for the full life of the 12.2.0.1.
Desupported features are features that are no longer supported by fixing bugs related to that feature, and features for which Oracle may remove the code required to use the feature. Where indicated, a deprecated feature can be desupported in a future major release.
