mb_strtolower — Make a string lowercase

Beschreibung

mb_strtolower(string $string, ?string $encoding = null): string

Returns string with all alphabetic characters converted to lowercase.

Parameter-Liste

string

The string being lowercased.

encoding

Der Parameter encoding legt die Zeichenkodierung fest. Wird er nicht übergeben, so wird die interne Zeichenkodierung genutzt.

Anmerkungen

By contrast to strtolower(), 'alphabetic' is determined by the Unicode character properties. Thus the behaviour of this function is not affected by locale settings and it can convert any characters that have 'alphabetic' property, such as a-umlaut (ä).
